Press Release: End American presence in Pakistan
Hizb ut-Tahrir condemns the Kayani-Sharif regime for its failure to prevent the murder of Muslims and destruction of their property in Rawalpindi, as well as target killings across the country over the Muharram period. The government's measures included imposing curfew, closing down mobile networks and a ban on pillion riding, claiming that mobiles are used to trigger remote bombs and motorcycles from using guns to fire upon people. Yet, the murder and destruction did not stop. In fact with such “eye-wash” measures, it will never stop. All that happened is that the people were besieged in their homes, deprived of cheap means of transport and essential communication. Such carnage will continue as long as the government allows the poisonous American presence amongst us, which is the cause of the sectarian killings.
Press Briefing: America seeks a permanent presence through talks
The media in Pakistan has raised questions regarding the matter of talks with the Taleban. Hizb ut-Tahrir's Media Office in Pakistan has thereby issued the following press briefing. It is being asked, in the light of the drone attack which killed a Taleban leader, how can it be said that US desires talks with the Taleban? Are such talks not a sign of victory of the Muslims over America? Why would America need talks with “moderate” Taleban at all?
The Media Office issues the following points for consideration:
1. Regarding the issue of talks with Taleban in general, America needs a negotiated settlement to provide legitimacy for its presence after its partial withdrawal, whether it is the world's second largest American embassy in Islamabad or nine bases in Afghanistan, or over 100,000 of its personnel, or other than that. So the Taleban within Afghanistan are important as they are from the Pushtoon, whose support is needed for any agreement to have practical meaning or weight. Indeed, the Pushtoon, collectively, are the dominant faction in Afghanistan throughout its existence.
Press Release: America’s latest “double game” ploy
On the same day as America announced it is closely following “peace” talks with the Taleban, it assassinated one of its leaders, Hakeemullah Mehsud, within Pakistani territory. The government line that America is trying to disrupt the “peace” talks is a bare-faced lie. In fact, America is orchestrating a campaign of bombings and assassinations to secure support for the “peace” talks. America and its agents know of the great anti-American feelings within the Ummah in general, and within the Pakistan armed forces in particular, so it exploits this fact to further its interests.
Since the beginning of its violation of our region, America and her agents create the drama of a “double game” so as to further American interests. The “double game” of the Musharraf-Aziz regime was the threat of American “hot pursuit” operations into our territory in order to incite our armed forces to carry out operations themselves. The “double game” of the Kayani-Zardari regime was to further expand military operations, claiming that it is part of a “double game” to cut American and Indian influence within the tribal areas. In fact, America needed Pakistan’s armed forces to fight its war on behalf of its own cowardly troops, who even commit suicide through fear of poorly armed groups of mujahideen. And the “double game” of the Kayani-Sharif regime is that of “peace” talks to secure a permanent American presence in the region, including nine military bases in Afghanistan, a huge fortress disguised as an embassy in Islamabad, its “Raymond Davis network” which orchestrates bombings and assassinations throughout the country in addition to another 100,000 of its personnel.
Nawaz Sharif’s visit of America
Nawaz Sharif’s tour of America is a betrayal of the blood of thousands of civilians and military personnel who have been martyred in bomb blasts organized by the American “Raymond Davis” network. In addition, for several years America has been violating Pakistan’s sovereignty through drone attacks, in which thousands of Muslims have died a horrifying death. However, the chief executive of a nuclear state did not show any sign of bravery, dignity or defiance. He went to America in order to consolidate the American Raj in Pakistan, which is built on the skulls and bones of the Muslims’ corpses. If a weak country like Venezuela, in America’s backyard, expelled American diplomats for alleged involvement in acts of sabotage to destabilize the country, then why can the political and military leadership of Pakistan, headed by Nawaz Sharif and Kayani, not adopt a strong stance against American interference?
